Volunteers in Patrol
BLOCK CO-CAPTAIN: Build the community on your block by keeping them up-to-date on what's happening with the NA and represent them when there is a concern. Grab a neighbor to share the responsibility.
COMMITTEE CHAIR: With support from the Board, lead one of the NA's standing committees.
EVENT CHAIR: With support from the Board and other neighbors, organize one of the events sponsored by the GMNA this year. Check out the Events calendar to see which one works for you.

NEIGHBORHOOD WELCOME: Visit new neighbors with a welcome packet containing information about the neighborhood
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY: Using member information provided, create the annual directory of GMNA members and other neighborhood-related information
YARD-OF-THE-MONTH: Identify potential Yard-Of-The-Month (YOTM) candidates each month. Award gift-cards and yard signs to the winners.
GMNA BOARD MEMBER: Provide leadership and governance in support of the Glen Meadow neighborhood. Current membership, willingness to attend 10 Board meetings a year and support neighborhood activities are requirements.
VOLUNTEER IN PATROL MEMBER: Be part of our neighborhood's most visible crime deterrent. For two hours once a month, patrol neighborhood streets and alleyways with a partner looking for potential crimes or problems. A short training course is required
WEBMASTER: Keep the website current and manage the neighborhood email distribution list.
VOICE EDITOR/PUBLISHER: Solicit content and advertisers, layout the publication for printing, arrange distribution
VOICE/WEB CONTENT CONTRIBUTORS: Write articles and announcements for the GMNA website and the Voice.
RENTAL HOUSING REPRESENTATIVE: Work with all parties involved in rental apartments/ houses to see that such properties are maintained according to City Code.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE: Make sure the neighborhood know what's happening through publishing the Voice, writing and posting emails and Nextdoor announcements, maintaining the website.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: Promote membership among all GMNA neighbors, keep membership records current, publish annual Directory of current members.
BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE: Promote the GMNA area as a beautiful place to live through Glen Cove Park maintenance, Yard-of-the Month, Holiday decoration contests, etc.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE: Work with staff of DISD, Tom C. Gooch Elementary School, Thomas C. Marsh Middle School and both schools’ Parent Teacher Associations to support an excellent education for our children.
SOCIAL COMMITTEE: Plan and manage special social functions and recreational activities for GMNA members, including welcoming new neighbors. Check out the Events calendar what's planned for this year.
CRIME WATCH COMMITTEE: Serve as liaison between the Crime Watch organization and the Dallas Police Department and as spokesperson for the Crime Watch areas. Keep neighbors updated on crime statistics through the Voice, Nextdoor, website and emails.
CIVIC AFFAIRS: Seek out areas that need attention, such as disrepair of a street or violations of the Dallas City Code, and document/follow-up with the proper City officials for resolution. Represent the GMNA’s interest at meetings of governmental bodies affecting the neighborhood. Provide reports and recommendations to the Board and members.
VOLUNTEERS IN PATROL (VIP): Solicit members and maintain a list of volunteers for the VIP, ensure all members are trained, make the patrol schedule, keep and monitor the VIP equipment.
